Scandals has been happy to lend its wall space to local artists for several years, and 2015 is no different. New art shows open on first Thursdays and go for 1-2 months, so come on down and check out the latest show. Ace Troy is a versatile artist born and raised in Portland, OR. Ace’s work takes the “in your face” pop style of greats like Andy Warhol and blends it with a Shepard Fairey sense of contrast, seen through a pop culture lens of the past and present. Early influences such as Banksy pushed Ace into the realm of stenciling and spray paint but a love of Roy Lichtenstein and Warhol pushed his art off the streets and onto woodcuts, vintage household objects and canvas.
Ace Troy’s work has been featured permanently at many businesses in Portland and many establishments around the country such as Pabst Blue Ribbon corporate offices of Los Angeles, Penn State University and many others. Ace remains a prolific and ever changing part of the Portland art scene, always coming up with new works.
